Multicultural Night & The Bite of Talbot
Talbot Hill Elementary and our Talbot Hill PTA will be hosting the 2nd Annual Talbot Hill Multicultural Night/Bite of Talbot Hill on Thursday, June 15th!
This year’s theme will be ‘The Story of Us’, and will, once again incorporate the fabulous projects from our students entitled ‘The Best Part of Me’. This family and community engagement event will include food, arts/crafts, performances, and educational activities, all with the intention of allowing our students, families, and staff to share more about individual cultures represented at Talbot Hill.
See below for ways that your family can help contribute to our event.
Ways You Can Participate
We're looking for our community to be part of our celebration because we wouldn't be a diverse school community without YOU and we want to celebrate that!
Bring Food
Are you interested in contributing food for this event? Coming Friday, June 2, we'll be providing a sign up form for families and staff available through Friday Folders!
At the event on June 15, all "bites" of food provided will be sold at 50 cents each and Bite Tickets will be available for purchase, through the PTA website, beginning Monday, June 5. Pre-purchased Bite tickets will be available for pickup at a designated will-call table on June 15. Additional tickets may also be purchased in-person on June 15.
I would like to pre-purchase food tickets
Provide a display or artifacts
Classrooms were provided packets this week with an optional activity called "The Story of Us". Families work together to create a display board or flip-book to share about your family culture! These displays are due back to the school by Wednesday, June 14.
If interested, families can also choose to bring in artifacts to go along with their display. All of the displays and artifacts will be set up in the gym for the community to enjoy.
Host a game or activity
Does your family have a small game, activity or craft that you can share as a hands-on experience with the community?
I would like to host a game or activity!
Offer help for the day of the event
With all of the food, entertainment and activities being planned, we'll need many volunteers to help direct our guests at the event. Can you offer a set of helping hands?
Calling for Performers
Hey students, families and staff! Do you perform songs, dance or demonstrations that would contribute to our event? If so, we would love to invite you to perform at our event! Let us know you're interested!
Everyone Welcome
This free event is hosted as a combined effort between the school and the Talbot Hill PTA (Parent Teacher Association). The goal is to make sure ALL students, families and staff feel welcome and part of our community.
While admission to the event is free, food will be available for purchase.
